This KOA is an older campground but well kept. As we drove into the entrance: the first 100 feet or so was like driving on a washboard. I suppose they leave it like this to slow down incoming and outgoing traffic. I hate roads like this because it shakes the dickens out of my coach! The older campsites located behind the office are quite small, so using a slide out keeps you very close to your neighbors. They use a parking system where some of campers face one way while the next is facing the other. This system puts some campers door to door with their neighbors so you really don't have any privacy. This isn't bad if you're the friendly type and don't mind looking at your neighbors all the time. There is plenty to do for the kids. The staff offers hay rides, without hay, which the kids really seemed to enjoy. When it's dark the kids all have glo-sticks when they ride around: so its neat to watch them go by yelling at the top of their lungs. The swimming pool is very small: when we were there, it was very hot out, so there were so many kids in the pool you couldn't see the water. I can only image the bacteria level in the pool with it full of kids: yuk. There is a very small hot tub for adults only, but has a capacity of only 6 people. It was full all the time. I would recommend this campground if you have kids. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. All in all, a nice place.

Heaven's Up North Family Campground is a great little campground. It's been open since 1995 and it is a typical up-north Wisconsin campground. It's located around many great fishing lakes and is in the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The Wolf & Pestiago Rivers are close by which offers the opportunity for some great white water rafting and rubber inner-tube rafting. The campground itself is heavily wooded with rolling hills throughout. In my opinion big rigs, units over 32 feet long, would have trouble moving around this campground. The roads are that tight. The sites themselves are large enough for comfort and they all have fire rings and picnic tables at every site. Unfortunately the weekend we were there it rained buckets the whole time so we didn't get much opportunity to explore the campground. We did stop into the main lodge and met the campground hosts who were very friendly. Inside the lodge they have a few video type games for the kids but not much in reference to camping supplies. Their web page is unique as you can actually see the site you might want to reserve. This is a great feature in my opinion...My wife and I normally don't go back to the same campground twice because there are so many different ones to pick from but we already agreed to visit Heaven's Up North Campground again. It one of the most beautiful campground we've seen in some time. Once you get settled in and you're looking for a great place to eat jump on Hwy. 34 and head about five miles north of Lakewood to a wide spot in the road called Townsend. Upon your arrival look for a restaurant on your left called M.J. Beans Casual Dining. We went there and were blown away by the great food and service. For a casual dining place they really got their act together. I had a huge Rib Eye steak that was done to perfection. I ordered it with sauteed mushrooms and it came with a large bowl of delicious, prepared to perfection ones. The wife had a shrimp stir fry what was also done to perfection. They also offer a great salad bar and was full of very fresh greenery and homemade dishes. Anyway back to the campground. We highly recommend this campground but only if you have a unit under 32 feet or so. Happy camping.

Nice campground for a night or two. The owner/manager was very nice and accommodating though when I went to purchase a bag of ice I was informed they do not have have any and I should walk over to the gas station to purchase some. Other then that, our over night stay was pleasant and quiet and it was especially nice having cable TV available. One thing I did learn when I attempted to check in is that if I only pay for a electric/water site I would have to pay $5 to dump in the morning. I have never stayed at a campground that charges its guests to dump in the morning. I thought this is pretty cheap on their part so I paid for a full hook up site for the night.

We were heading home from vacation when we decided to look for a campground for our last night on the road. We made a major mistake by picking A-J Acres. When we turned onto their dirt road we were immediately struck by the roads disrepair. For the mile it took us to drive back to the campground we were jolted and jarred by the wash-board condition of the dirt road. The speed sign of 30 mph must be meant for Baja racers as we could barely maintain 3 mph with all the bouncing our truck and coach were taking. In all my years of travels, this road was by far the worst I ever had to drive on to get to a campground. When we finally managed to get into the campground, and into the office, I asked about the rough and deplorable condition of their road. The guy behind the counter just shrugged his shoulders and said they can't get the township to run a grader over it to smooth it over. In my opinion if I owned this place I would buy my own drag and pull it up and down the road with my lawn tractor. Anything is better then nothing... I also asked about a full hook up site and was told they were all spoken for. Later when we took a walk in the park I observed many full hookup sites sitting empty. Another thing about this CG is that it's very old and in desperate need of upgrading and repair. When we were given the map of our campsite the guy just pointed up the hill and told me to just pick a site. He told us to look for site numbers on the trees and to pull in. Well to make a long story short there turned out to only be a couple small, faded number signs on a few trees so it was almost impossible to determine what site we were actually in. All in all, I suggest anyone who wants to camp in this area look elsewhere for a campground. This is one poor excuse for a campground in my opinion.

We've stayed at this campground in the past and can't believe it hasn't been rated in the past. Vista Royalle is a second generation owners campground. It offers many things for kids to do during the weekends and all kinds of shows and events for fun loving adults over the weekend also. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is a nicely stocked camping store with game room. They offer wood for sale and have the ability to fill LP tanks if need be. The man made lake is a good size with a nice sandy beach for kids to play in. There are huge floating toys in the lake that little and big kids can climb on and splash around. There is no life guard so parents need to watch their own kids. The campground also has a huge in ground jumping toy, similar to a trampoline but five times as big. Kids really love this thing... All in all this is a great family campground with lots to do. My only complaint is they only have one dump station and on Sunday morning when everyone wants to hit the road it gets really backed up as everyone at once wants to dump. They have expanded the seasonal sites but seem to have forgotten to upgrade the dump station for their weekend campers. We highly recommend this campground. Happy camping...

Waupaca Camping Park is a older family run campground but its very well taken care of. They have a nice sized in-ground swimming pool that is heated by huge solar panels mounted on the office roof. This keeps the pool water at between 80 and 90 degrees. They offer a kiddie play area for toddlers from 5 and under. Most of the sites have concrete pads, but because this is an older park, the sites are a little tights as they were designed for campers without slides. This is not a real problem, I just wanted to make anyone planning on staying there aware of this point. The office/store is well stocked and there is a game room for the gamers in your family. The sites numbered 37 through 59 back up to Old Taylor Lake so this is a real peaceful area of the park. They have a few rental cottages and even a Yurt for rent. Look it up to see what a Yurt is... We highly recommend this park for a night, week or longer. The staff is very friendly and the surrounding area has lots of sites to see and things to do. Happy camping...

We had attempted to book three nights at the West Yellowstone KOA but were advised they were full. The person I spoke with told me the same person owns the KOA and the Lionshead RV Resort so she could booked us there. Upon our arrival the gal at the counter was very friendly and helpful. The site she assigned us to was a end-of-the-isle site and was barely large enough to accommodate our fifth-wheel coach. We had to park our truck on the grass between us and the coach next to us so it wouldn't stick out onto the road. We were only able to get three TV stations, I like to keep up on the news, so it would be nice if the campground would install cable for its campers. I know, fat chance... Anyway, its a nice campground that seemed well taken care of. This place wouldn't be our first choice if we went back to that area but we would stay there if nothing else was available...

This campground is directly behind the Heart Break Hotel and is within a short walking distance to Graceland. The sign for the campground is fairly small and hard to see until you're right on top of it but the entrance is just before Graceland. The campground is clean and well kept even though its older. The staff was very helpful in planning our time to tour the sites in Memphis. They gave us some great ideas on how to get around for free using tour buses. The only thing I wish they had was Wi-Fi for the Internet. They do have a dedicated phone plug in the office for your computer but they limit the time to use it to only 15 minutes.

We spent almost 3 months in this campground while we searched the area for a house to buy. DuBay Shores is a older campground but is very well kept up. The showers and restrooms are always kept clean and neat. During the weekends the owners have a hayride around the campground and this is very well received by everyone. Also during the weekend the owner and his son patrol the campground all night to make sure everyone is safe. I really liked this part. There are quite a few seasonal campers in this park and for the most part they are very friendly to anyone camping there. The only problem we had was on two different occasions we had people stop at our campsite. One a LP Gas delivery truck making a delivery to our coach and the other was a Law Enforcement Officer friend. Within a couple minutes of their arrival at our campsite the owner of the campground came flying up and raised cain that they didn't stop at the office first. His actions were not very cool, in fact I thought he overreacted, and it was very embarrassing to both me and the person stopping over. If you're going to have someone stop over make sure they stop at the office and register... All in all this is a very nice campground with lots for kids to do including swimming in the river. Tons of fun for all...

Tamiami RV Park is located directly across Hwy. 41 from the Shell Factory in North Fort Myers. It is a older RV park with about 30% being seasonal. They raise their rates substantially during the winter months. During this time campers are packed in like cord wood. Park staff is very friendly and helpful. We booked a campsite for the month of April and paid in advance. At this time the park was basically empty. After the first week something came up that we were forced to leave for home. I went to the office and asked if we could have a refund of our unused camping. The park manager told me that he would give me our money back minus $100. We expressed our displeasure to this but we had no choice but to accept his offer. We had to get back home. I could agree with this if the park was full and they would have lost money with our leaving but seeing the park was almost empty I felt the manager was just greedy in keeping that $100. Other then this the park is well taken care of and close to Fort Myers and all its tourist attractions. I would recommend this park but only during the off-season.
